The eight things people message us about most — hours, dogs, parking, sunbeds and how to actually get down here. Anything we've missed, ask us on Instagram or at the bar.

Frequent questions

Asked on the sand, answered here

When are you open?

In season — roughly June to September — we're open daily from around 09:00 until about 21:00. Hours move with the weather and the light, so the current ones are always on our Instagram.

Are dogs allowed?

Yes. Dogs are welcome on the sand and under the umbrellas. There's water in the bowl by the bar and nobody will look at you sideways.

Is there parking?

Yes, and it isn't an issue. There's a large open area by the beach that takes cars, scooters and bikes however busy the sand gets.

Do I need to book a sunbed or a table?

No. Aqua Loca is walk-in — turn up, pick a free sunbed or table, and someone will come to you. For a big group it's worth messaging us on Instagram first so we can shuffle some umbrellas together.

What does a sunbed cost? Is there a minimum spend?

There's no entry fee for the beach. A set — umbrella and sunbeds — is hired for the whole day: €12 for the wooden sets, €9 for the aluminium ones, chair included. No minimum spend on top of that.

How do I get there from Athens?

Ferry from Piraeus to Aegina — about 40 minutes on the high-speed boat, 1 hour 10 on the conventional one. From Aegina port it's about five minutes by car, taxi or scooter along the west coast road towards Marathonas and Perdika. The Perdika bus stops nearby.

Is it good for small kids?

It's one of the easier beaches on the island for young children: proper sand rather than pebbles, shallow water that stays calm, and shade under the umbrellas when the sun gets serious.

Are there toilets, a shower and somewhere to change?

Yes — toilets by the bar, a changing cabin, and a freshwater shower for rinsing the salt off before you drive home.
